The Perks are a Pop Rock Alternative band from Las Vegas, NV composed of brothers Andy, Aaron, and Hunter Gorman, and their best friend Ryley Isakson. Since their inception on October 11, 2012, they’ve been playing energetic sets for passionate crowds both in and out of Vegas. The band just released their new single “Enough of This Place” which is a light catchy melodic tune with beautiful harmonies and a chorus everyone can join in to with “ooh” lyrics. It’s a sweet simple song that is well composed with light accompaniment for the verses which builds for the chorus. Their clapping bridge over electric guitar is very effective and has a positive vibe giving the song an uplifting “Imagine Dragons” feel. The simple vocal style also adds a smooth, easy to listen, laid back vibe to this song.
The Perks seem to have a nack for writing catchy tunes and their collection of songs show a variety of styles while keeping it fresh. “Not My Home” is a track they released last year which is an example of their talent. It’s a well produced song with steady beats and shimmering pop synths. It’s a really infectious tune and again the vocals are perfect as they are soft while showing off a vocal talent by moving into a smooth almost falsetto without becoming sharp. The tempo change at the bridge is very effective and we get to hear an instrumental solo which shows off their playing skills.
“Sirens” shows us a more indie rock side to the Perks with slick guitar riff and an intense mysterious vocal in the verses before a catchy upbeat bright chorus. They keep it light with this song also, but show off their guitar and compositional skills.
“Razorblades” would be my favourite of their songs with its groove beat and memorable chorus with energetic tones. Its a fun positive track that will make you dance and clap along. The funky guitar and luminous synths gives the track a spirited lively feel finishing with a lustrous guitar solo.
Perks are an energetic radiant band with catchy songs that are very easy to listen and sing along to.

Our Worth A Listen Track this week comes from Thieves Asylum
Thieves Asylum are a Rock band from Stoke-on-Trent that consist of Joseph Tomasso (Vocals/Guitar) Dan Thompson (Drums), Alex Grocock (Vocals/ Guitar) and James Perry (Bass Guitar). Their song “MEGADRIVE” is a fantastic hard hitting rock track with heavy beats and deep striking bass pulse. With a weighty intro and fierce guitar riffs, this solid fiery track has everything you would expect from a rock song. It has an infectious chorus and swaggering vocals that oozes confidence in a cool indifferent tone while the music explodes creating a contrast right up to the crescendo as the intensity of the vocals escalates leading to a magnificent guitar solo that doesn’t disappoint. This is definitely a song that is worth a listen.
Cant wait for more music from these guys!

Anna Liese are a four-piece alternative Rock, Irish band based in Waterford. Mark Walsh (Vocals, Guitars) Emmet Conefery (guitarist), Sean Carey (Bass) and Eddy Blake (Drums) have just released their début EP ‘Chasing and Fading’.These guys give us a variety with their slow tempos, melodic guitar passages, beautiful vocal harmonies in ” Storm” which has a smooth airy drive time vibe, compared with the fast tempo and heavy riffs in ” Psycho Mask” and “Break The Chain”.
” Psycho Mask” is an upbeat funky tune with some distortion which adds a hint of psychedelic rock as they lead into a instrumental break. “Break The Chain” is a rock and roll style track and my favourite of the three with it slick guitar and punchy drums its an animated track that’s bound to sound good live and get everyone up dancing. This particular tunes heavy riff and use of guitar licks is very effective.
‘Chasing and Fading’ is a strong début EP that shows promise and with a number of gigs under their belts and preparations for their EP launch gigs which will be taking place over the next few months we can look forward to some high energy shows.

Blossoms have just dropped their new single, the Stockport boys , Tom Ogden (Voice/Guitar), Charlie Salt (Bass/BV’s) Josh Dewhurst ( Lead Guitar) Joe Donovan (Drums) and Myles Kellock (Keyboards/BV’s) new song “Getaway” is an honest, catchy light pop track. Its melodic with creamy velvety guitar, shimmering synths and steady smooth beats. Toms soft vocals really add a gentle touch to the already emotional piece. This bright upbeat song leaves you with a sweet but sombre vibe which is very compelling. I can imagine “Getaway’ is very effective live as Blossoms are known for their brilliant live performances. We saw them earlier this year and every song had a new dimension when it was performed live so I’ll look forward to where they take this lovely track when they perform it live. Members Joby Fitzgerald (Vocals) Liam Howard (Guitar) Connor Hodgkiss (Drums) Freddie Shaw (Bass) released their début single ‘Dark Pretenders’ in March this year, and its a roaring rock track with thunderous drums and vocal screams. This pumping track is full of energy all the way through and is the perfect début single. It shows us how tight this bands sound is, with a slick guitar riff and growl vocals these guys show real promise from the very first note. This is a beast of a song and is full of oomph, zest and energy, and is a great way to introduce the entry of an extremely talented band

Our worth a listen track this week comes from DEAD!
Formed in early 2012 DEAD! are 5 boys from Southampton, today living in London. Their song ‘ Skin ‘ is a zestful rock track released in 2015, it starts with light plucked guitar and then storms into a hardcore rock sound with strong vocals. These guys have mastered their sound with songs that make you think WOW! I bet these guys are brilliant live. ‘Skin’ has an infectious melody with slick guitars and punchy drums. Its headbangingly good and mosh worthy. Holding its high energy all the way through you can imagine a crowd jumping and going wild to this dynamic track.

The Perx are just two buddies from Los Angeles ,Ryan and Jeremy making songs in their basement.Their Indie, Alternative Rock sound with some electronic thrown in is infectious. ‘Hipster Nightmare’ has an electronic dance feel, perfect for your Friday night tune. Really catchy lyrics and crazy synths. This song shows an ambitious, experimental side to them, that works really well and sounds amazing.
‘The Dreamer’ takes us on a mellow, dreamy almost trance-like trip. With smooth west coast style and light instrumental that builds as the song progresses. Its a really well written song that will definitely take you on a journey. ‘Another Minute’ has a Police feel, with a reggae beat before it breaks back into an electronic sound for the chorus. This is an upbeat energetic song with a great electronic reggae fusion with the lovely surprise of a guitar solo. Both these songs were released on soundcloud four days ago and showcase the variety of music these guys can produce.
‘Episodes’ Is a groovy track with a catchy chorus that is full of emotion. This song has a psychedelic vibe in the verses that makes you loose yourself, right up to the amazing chorus. This was the first song I heard from ‘The Perx’ and I was hooked after one listen.‘Alive’ again is a fantastic song with lyrics everyone can relate to, ‘Wednesday pisses me off’ we have all thought that! The whole song runs so smoothly with steady beats ,radiant guitar and strong vocals and melody. Its written in a not quite upbeat tone but a hopeful hang in there tone.
I Really enjoyed these guys and look forward to hearing more from them.

Sisteray are a British four-piece rock band from London, UK. Formed in 2014, the band consists of Niall Rowan (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Michael Hanrahan (bass/vocals), Daniel Connolly (lead guitar/vocals) and Marco Biagini (drums/vocals).
On first hearing Sisterays songs I realised they are a band with strong opinions and a Rock and roll, punk rock, mod revival, attitude to life which is refreshing as they say and do everything we want to do with a rebellious ‘I don’t give a damn attitude’. They have previously worked with producer Rory Attwell (The Vaccines/Palma Violets) and have created a cult-following in the UK due to high energy live performances and upbeat melodies and catchy clever lyrics about Britain in the 21st Century.
My attention was grabbed when they released ‘Back to Yours’ and ‘A Wise Man Said’ – as part of their new Double A Side Single. Both songs are very catchy ‘ A Wise Man Said’ is a fast pased tune with a gnarly sound full of raw british punk rock attitude. While ‘Back To Yours’ is a slower pase with Nialls voice adding a bit of grit to the vocal with a London twang
We will be hearing a lot more from these guys as word is beginning to spread about their energetic live performances. Definitely a band with a bright future ahead

That striking moment when you find a song that stops you in your tracks, hits you to your core and makes you listen to every word and note, that’s the effect that Isaac Gracie’s song ‘Last Words’ has. Isaac is a singer songwriter from London and with only one song released on soundcloud in the summer of 2015 is making a big impact, gaining media attention when DJ Zane Lowe named it his World Record on Beats 1.
‘Last Words’ has a rock-grunge sound and the track’s unmastered acoustic and vocals are very effective. The elevated backing vocals are perfectly placed and add emphasis to the despair and nostalgic atmosphere created in the song. This song has a very raw feel showing us a vulnerable side with striking lyrics ‘Cocaine in your eyes and bullets in your gun,’N’ blood in your nails is scratching for the faith’ this song grabs your attention and fills you with emotion.
You can watch Isaac Gracie perform ‘Terrified’ and ‘Running On Empty’ at Maida Vale for BBC Music Introducing on youtube. These songs again are brilliantly written and preformed. Isaac has a Jeff Buckley rasp to his voice which is so effective and flawlessly expresses his passion.’Terrified’ again strikes a chord as its a lovely heart on your sleeve track and Isaac performs with intense emotion that gives you goosebumps. ‘Running On Empty’ is a faster paced powerful song. Isaac shows of a higher range vocal in the chorus.
Isaac’s new EP is due to be released next week and ‘Terrified’ will be a track on it, it’s set to be a promising EP and I for one am really excited to hear the rest of the tracks.

Beautiful Corruption are a four piece alt-rock band based in Kilkenny, Ireland. The band consists of Oisin Wolfe on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, James Brown on lead guitar and back-up vocals, Simon Cooke on drums and Rory Cooper on bass.
Their début EP was released on the 14th of February 2015 and is a strong collection of tracks that show the bands growing talents and potential. The EP starts strong with ‘Leather’ a fast passed solid rock song with catchy riff on bass and strong vocals. Followed by ‘ Snakes and Ladders’ again another strong riff based song with punchy drums and full sound. ‘ The Wait’ shows us more guitar skill throughout the song with a shredding guitar solo which is just kick ass.’The Hench’ has a slow intro until the drum kicks in bringing the tempo up again. The final track on the EP is ‘Dilate’ with an infectious guitar hook, again guitar is definitely a strong feature in this band as they slide into a cool slick guitar solo to the end.
I had the pleasure of seeing this band live in Cyprus Avenue in Cork the other day and my thoughts of this talented band were confirmed as they performed with such confidence and swagger while maintaining a tight sound and without compromising on the vocals. ‘Beautiful Corruption’ are a band that you have to see live to really appreciate their talent. Their high energy show had the whole venue forming a mosh pit just as the band came off stage into the crowd and began playing and jumping amongst them.
