Late Night Pharmacy ‘Relapse’ Premiere

Dublin-based alternative rock band Late Night Pharmacy have released their new single ‘Relapse’. ‘Relapse’ is the band’s third single of 2021, following April’s ‘Too Late for the Rickshaws’ and June’s ‘Slacktivist (Normalise This)’. Recording the single was only possible after Late Night Pharmacy were one of four Irish bands hand-picked to take part in the 2020 edition of the TiLT Development Deal. As part of this deal, the band received hours of free studio time in Dublin’s renowned Sun Studios (in which artists such as Rihanna, Kanye West and Sinéad O’Connor have recorded over the years). There, the band recorded two songs, ‘Relapse’ is the first to be released.

Saturated in sharp indie rock, ‘Relapse’ is a mighty new single from Late Night Pharmacy. The band present their intricate fizzing indie sound through a catchy summer bop filled with jangly guitars, buoyant drums and light percussion. The track meanders between airy tones and edgy rock as the band drift a laid back melody over jagged riffs and driving bass lines to create a thrilling balance of mosh ready rock and infectious pop. With vivid metaphorical lyrics, “Oh my old friend, you were the scars on my skin. My veins have blown since we packed it in And now I’ve got the shakes, I’m craving my fix”, teamed with acute instrumentation and a shredding guitar solo the band pull out all the stops with this glistening gem. About the track, the band said: “Relapse” is a song about breaking up with your girlfriend, falling back into bed with her, regretting it, and then the whole cycle starting again. The lyrics compare this to a recovering drug addict repeatedly falling off the wagon, alluding to Oscar Wilde and The Undertones.“

Kryan ‘Scars’ Premiere

Kryan is set to release his new single ‘Scars’ tomorrow November 20th. Kryan is a Dublin based Singer-songwriter who blends intimate and honest lyrics with pop sensibilities. In addition to being featured on Spotify’s ‘Easy’ playlist, previous release ‘I Always Knew’ was praised for Kryan’s mature and developed sound despite being the artists first release under the’ Kryan’ moniker. ‘Scars’ was co-written and produced by David Prendergast (Kodaline, Overheard, The Albatross).

Showcasing earnest songwriting and deftly embellished building soundscapes, ‘Scars’ is a beautiful and emotive track from Kryan. The song takes a retrospective look at the shared victories and losses of a blossoming relationship. Kryan displays this through a progressive instrumental backdrop which exudes a hopeful tone. ‘Scars’ begins with elegant piano and soft guitar accompaniment allowing Kryan’s warm vocals express the passionate, meaningful lyrics through a moving melody. As the track progresses it becomes more uplifting; the guitars and keys intensify and a suspenseful beat rises in the background as the song reaches its cinematic crescendo.

Discussing his new single Kryan said “I began writing ‘Scars’ at the end of the first lockdown in Ireland. I then brought the track to good friend Dave Prendergast who would later flesh out the track and we would begin the recording process when it was safe to do so in August. After a week or two tidying up lyrics and melodies, Scars found a whole new meaning. As a follow up to ‘I Always Knew’, ‘Scars’ tells the story of the ups and downs that nobody sees.

Cōfresi featuring KOU ‘Better’ Premiere

KOU, the new musical revolution by former The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus drummer Jon Wilkes has released his new single ‘Better’ with the amazing EDM artist Cōfresi. KOU brings an alternative dynamic and anthemic progression to the track with a melody that seeps and flows fluidly into the massive chorus with a lamenting tone.

‘Better’ is rugged and delicate all at once.The duo create a blazing chorus and scorching crescendo filled with rich intricate sonics and textures while strong basslines and the nuanced timing of percussion swirl the track into a whirlwind of heavy EDM and dubstep elements.

The synths create elements of blinding scintillation as the track roller coasters between gigantic drops and tense buildups that lead into sudden bass reverberations and fantastic passionate vocal exclaims from Wilkes.

‘Better’ is a song about how the world needs love and we need each other more than ever. KOU and Cōfresi present this through adrenaline-pumping, ethereal musicianship and deft production. ‘Better’ is quite the invigorating, hair raising anthem and a joy to listen to.

KOU ‘Burn’ Permiere

Jon Wilkes, formerly the drummer in The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus has released his new single ‘Burn’ under the name KOU, his new musical revolution. Wilkes was a key member of The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, recording albums with hit producers such as David Bendeth (Paramore, Papa Roach, Underoath), Howard Benson (Daughtry, Kelly Clarkson, The All-American Rejects) and John Feldman (Goldfinger, Good Charlotte, The Used). With WILKES on drums, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus released 3 full-length records: Don’t You Fake It (2006), Lonely Road (2008) and Am I The Enemy (2011).Don’t You Fake It featured the hit single “Face Down” and was certified gold in November 2006 by the RIAA for selling over 500,000 copies and in June 2016 was certified platinum for selling over 1,000,000 copies.

Ignited with passionate and raw alternative rock ‘Burn’ is a wholly immersive and explosive track from KOU. Wilkes uses light twinkling soundscapes to begin the track, swirling airy synths into a flashing beat, creating a delicate intro before erupting into a mammoth outburst of pounding drums and sharp guitars. His powerful vocals express painful emotion as they bellow and coo the heartfelt lyrics.

There is plenty of verve, emotion and instrumental prowess in this track to make it relatable and a feature on every alternative rock playlist. The lyrics depict how cruel humans can be and how hatred can consume everything. Wilkes calls for everyone to revolt against this bitter hate and as he does so the song becomes more intense and animated. With an acute rough wall of sound battering the backdrop with alternative rock,Wilkes portrays the raw unadulterated hatred while using majestic guitars and ethereal synths to create tender delicate moments between the chaos. Lushly intricate and well layered ‘Burn’ is a beautiful fusion of electronic and alternative rock.

Brian Whittington Debut Single ‘Loretta’ Premiere

Dublin’s northside native, Brian Whittington has released his new single ‘Loretta’. Having garnered previous press for his impressive covers of Amy Winehouse and Elvis, and having wracked up hundreds of thousands of views on his YouTube channel, Whittington has released his debut single ‘Loretta’ ahead of his Whelan’s show on April 4th.

‘Loretta’ is a swagger dripping rock & roll number saturated in Whittington’s catchy songwriting. With a smooth melody that glides in on suave vocals this slicked back ditty will have you dancing around the room within seconds. A shredding guitar solo scorches through a groove-doused bass line which wiggles its infectious rumble through the dynamic drums. Adam & Elvis ‘Doctor Bad Touch’ Premiere

Adam & Elvis have released their new single ‘Doctor Bad Touch’. The bands live shows combine a love for delectable walls of sound and a natural primitive punk energy. So far they have supported 60 legends The Zombies, Splashh, The Correspondents as well as played three separate sets at Y-Not Festival and several shows for BBC introducing Berkshire as well as many other shows around the south of England.

‘Doctor Bad Touch’ is a sinister, darkly twisted number that flickers with a bright sax melody before the murky guitar and smothering synths suffocate the track in ominous cinematic delusion. Its perilous carnival backdrop dances about with quirky soundscapes creating a crazy sort of clamorous atmosphere as the track throbs and creeps in with a Halloween – esque vibe. With pernicious guitars and threatening keys ‘Doctor Bad Touch’ is both euphoric and haunting. The striking keys create a horror movie vibe as the track spirals into motion, like the chugging cogs of an old funfair ride. The morbid lyrics are portrayed by growly gritty vocals that revel in mystery and obscurity. Giorgio De Palo ‘Vivid Dream’ Premiere


Driven by the peacefulness arising from the seashore where he grew up, Giorgio De Palo discloses himself through his songs, fully embracing his feelings and thoughts.Born in Rome, raised internationally and currently based in Berlin, he decided to pour himself into music striving to find his voice on small stages as a solo artist and his own sound in his bedroom.The majority of his upcoming EP ‘First Waves’, which will be released in the coming months has been created in his small home studio.

Vivid Dream’ is a dainty gem that flows elegantly as Giorgio’s sweet warm vocals caress the mellow melody delicately. This gentle melody drapes carefully around soft guitar strums and a steady drum tap. Motions ‘Play The Hits’ Premiere

Motions are an indie band from Dublin. Following the release of their well received ‘Late Night Calls’ EP in 2018, alongside a string of gigs and festival appearances across Ireland they have released their new single ‘Play The Hits’. . The track was written by Dave Nulty & Tom Daly and produced by Alessio Buso.

‘Play The Hits’ is a synth laced dance number luxuriate in 80’s speckled electronics. This catchy dance number is infused with rich flashing soundscapes as shimmering synths flicker and playfully ricochet off snappy beats and skittish rhythms. With a swirling ethereal atmosphere jangly guitars and smooth warm vocals this infectious number struts in cool and effortless with sticky scorching sun kissed electronics hooking it firmly into your brain. A few pinches of indie zest is sprinkled on top of this pop steeped anthem making it a charming shuffle-ready tune from Motions.

Five Days North ‘Stranger Signs’

Winners of the 2017 Best Unsigned Band at the Best of British Unsigned Music Awards, Five Days North are set to release their new single ‘Stranger Signs’ in June. In the summer of 2016, they released their debut EP ‘Past Times’. It contained the single ‘Won’t Stop for Nothing’ which has featured on ITV’s This Morning and was released with an accompanying music video. Their second single in April 2017 ‘Shapeshifters’ and third single ‘City of Wonder’ in September 2017 have both featured on BBC Introducing. The five piece have played a multitude of live events around the UK, from great venues such as the Deaf Institute and a headline performance at Gorilla in Manchester, to festivals such as Dot to Dot 2017 and Warrington festival 2016.

‘Stranger Signs’ is a light, dazzling whack of indie pop delight. Shimmering synths flood the track with an effervescent fizz of sugar while the luscious melody flows on top with a glucose creamy texture. James Walker ‘Next To Me’ Remix

English singer/songwriter James Walker has released a remix of ‘Next To Me’, one of the tracks from his debut record, ‘English Bones’. It’s a chilled, delicate remix where the sweet tender melody elegantly floats along smooth indie pop soundscapes. The remix features vocals from Dutch/Ghanaian artist Josephine Zwaan who was the finalist in the national TV show ‘De Beste Singer/Songwriter’. Zwaan and Walker’s velvety vocals blend beautifully together as she adds a rich luscious Afro-pop flavour while flooding the track with warm, passionate soul. This soul ingredient freshens up the track and seeps warm heartfelt emotion into the song. The pulsing beat shifts and trips about with mellow guitar twinkling between it, creating little glorious flickers of scintillation. It’s a sublime aerial remix which takes what was already a soothing delightful gem to new heights. It’s a cool breezy new rendition of this sweet number.
