Bio : The Crowleys have released their new single ‘Somnia’.The Crowleys consist of Cohen Wylie (guitar, vocals, production), Stuart Downie (drums, vocals), Giulianna Frontini (vocals) and brothers Justyn (synth, guitar) and Collin Horlick (bass, bass synth). Wylie, Downie and the Horlicks have been playing together for over a decade since bonding over music in high school. ’Somnia’ marks the first single to be released in preparation for The Crowleys debut full length album

Bio : Emerging Afro-Irish artist Xona has released his latest single ‘In My Head’.Having moved from Lagos to Ireland at the age of 10, he spent his teenage years mixing it up between the church choir and watching live performances of pop stars like Prince and Christina Aguilera on YouTube. Pursuing his dream of writing songs and being a singer Xona studied for degrees in jazz and popular music all the while making ripples in the Irish underground music scene. Xona began working with different producers and songwriters in London, Berlin, and Dublin. His influences emanate from the vast worlds of jazz, electronic, house, rock and even classical music.

Bio : The Lathums are a melodic indie band from Wigan. The band have released a video for their single ‘I See Your Ghost’.The single follows the announcement that the community-minded band will cut just one, 7″ copy of their cover of Northern Soul classic, The Snake, with owning the one-off record being the only chance of ever hearing it. Ticket holders in an online raffle to grab the vinyl have already raised close to £4,000 to support the fan-led fund to save Wigan Athletic.

Why We Like It: This catchy brisk number bounces upon skittish beats jaunty guitars and a deft dead summoning bass. The rapid lyrics slip through the frantic instrumentation with a cool tone while the vocals coo and haunt all at once. The tempo keeps the tracks brisk pace ticking along like a time bomb. The song is both chilling, spooky and vibrantly dynamic as the band create enticing ethereal verses before whacking out a massive hook laced chorus. With a shredding guitar solo, ghostly vocal bridge and spaghetti western-esque guitar moments the track is impressively crafted. It’s cinematic fun and intoxicating all at once. Love it.

For The Girl ‘Where Did Time Go?’

 

For The Girl are an Indie Pop Rock band from Nottingham. The band consists of members Sam Plenty (Vocals), Josh King (Rhythm Guitar), Isaac Hallas (Lead Guitar ), James Wells (Bass Guitar/ Synth) and Nathan Fox (Drums/ Percussion ). For The Girl have played a number of high profile gigs and toured with the likes of Young Kato. Their stage presence is like no other irrespective of where they play, from small and intimate venues, to the electric crowds of the UK’s O2 Academies. Known for their style and sound that is unique to them they are gaining an ever growing fan base and are fast becoming the ones to watch.
They have recently released ‘Where Did Time Go?’ the uplifting first single taken from the bands new EP ‘Shark Attack’, which is due out on the 8th of July. Lyrically, this song describes the emotions and feelings of something that a large amount of people experience at some point in their lifetime: the search for you inner self. For The Girl portray this theme to us in a fun upbeat energetic manner that is infectious. This track is full of radiant guitars, shimmering synths, soft beats, bright pop cymbal work and rhythms. Plenty has a unique style and vocal tone which is full of confidence and attitude and although its unique and not what you would expect it works extremely well with their sound as it adds a bite to the track and a refreshing sharpness which is effective. This track has a slick seductively captivating guitar feature that is kick ass. ‘Where Did Time Go?’ is full of amazing dimensions and is ablaze with bright tones and an upbeat energetic atmosphere.
‘Where Did Time Go?’ is definitely a must listen! For The Girl have a bright future ahead of them. We will eagerly await their EP.
