Greywind ‘Am I Asleep?’

Following the success of their acclaimed debut album, Greywind are back with their brand-new single ‘Am I Asleep?’. Making little secret of their ambitious global plans, Greywind, which is formed by siblings Steph (vocals) and Paul O’Sullivan (guitar), are fast proving themselves as a force to be reckoned with. Raised in the Irish town of Killarney, their mutual passion for expansive, stadium-sized rock music has since propelled them beyond the confines of stifled opportunity and into realms of superstar potential.

Greywind take their sound to cinematic heights with new release ‘Am I Asleep?’. Sprinkling light guitar over a brooding ethereal soundscape while punchy drums provide a biting edge, the duo showcase their first-rate musicianship in all its glory. The band carefully layer soft sonic textures into lush guitar melodies and supple bass grooves which gracefully swirl around Steph’s soothing vocals, while the dreamy melody exudes an otherworldly atmosphere. The duo slowly build the song allowing it to blossom within the spacious instrumentation until finally introducing an explosive and celestial post-rock crescendo.

Greywind are known for creating heartfelt tunes that evoke emotion within the listener and ‘Am I Asleep’ is a prime example of this – it is an utterly moving and captivating piece of music. The duo have triumphantly returned and given listeners a tantalizing taste of their exciting and spell-binding sound.

Greywind ‘Desolate’

Greywind have released their new single ‘Desolate’. Greywind are a two-piece alternative rock band from Killarney in Ireland formed by siblings Steph and Paul O’Sullivan. In their first 35 shows as a band they have already played some of the biggest festivals in Europe, including Reading and Leeds, Isle of Wight, Download, Rock Am Ring and have supported the likes of You Me At Six and Thrice. Their debut album ‘Afterthoughts’ was recorded in Texas with Grammy-Winning producer Jason Perry and has achieved huge critical acclaim from the likes Zane Lowe, Kerrang!, Rocksound, MTV. ‘Desolate’ is a prime example of Greywind’s passionate full bodied alternative rock. Wisped up in a heartfelt melody the track travels upon a bed of rich, vibrant and wholesome musicianship as Steph’s warm and emotive vocals coo and powerfully express the striking lyrics with a soothing and dynamic tone. As with every stunning Greywind track ‘Desolate’ drifts beautifully on a heavy backdrop of thumping drums and sublime crashing guitar work. This track broods majestically into its explosive cinematic chorus that is ready for arena sing-alongs. The twinkling components exude a sweet innocence while the subtle fuzz and ethereal guitar elements build the track to its most epic and adrenaline-inducing crescendo. ‘Desolate’ is an enthralling, powerful display from Greywind.

Greywind ‘Forest Ablaze’

Greywind are a two-piece alternative rock band from Killarney that formed in June 2014. The band consist of siblings Steph O’Sullivan and Paul O’Sullivan. In March this year they released their single ‘Forest Ablaze’ a powerful mighty track with pounding drums, punchy bass and vigorous guitars. Its a full, heavy robust track with strong vocals from Steph as she preforms in an intense almost grungy manner for the verse with heart beat pulsing drums. Then it kicks in to a high energy loud vocal chorus, accompanied by a full “Evanescence” style guitars and drums up to a bursting and booming crescendo.
A band Killarney can be proud of!  I’ll look forward to more from these guys!
