Fighting Caravans ‘It’s A Nice Ride (To Be Fair)’

Leeds alternative rock band Fighting Caravans have released their new single ‘It’s A Nice Ride (To Be Fair)’ by cult label, Clue Records. After sets at Leeds and Reading Festival in 2016, band members Daniel Clark (Lead Vocals), Roff James (Guitar), Cinnamon Lees (Bass), Ali Fletcher (Guitar) and Joshua Hagzenberg (Drums) have gained a reputation as an explosive live band which is exemplified by the accompanying music video made up of clips from their most recent headline tour of Europe in October. The band have recently completed a stint recording at the renowned, The Nave, and plans are in place for an even bigger 2017 having already announced appearances at a number of Festivals, including Outlines and Blue Dot.
‘It’s A Nice Ride (To Be Fair)’ is a venomous attack cloaked in smooth eerie tones and a slick glossy flow. This psychedelic acid trip wails with shrilling distorted guitar and a bitter fierce lyrical sting. Soft lush backing vocals add a ghostly haunting quality while that razor sharp  guitar shines with spine chilling flare and animation right into the kick ass riveting solo. The stirring malleable bass is shiver inducing-ly sinister. The track sweeps with their melodic yet vicious creepy territory with nods towards Nick Cave, The Walker Brothers and The Last Shadow Puppets. The track is lush and sublimely layered with dark tones and grippingly intense instrumentation. A chilling and thrilling must listen from Fighting Caravans. Watch out for theses guys.

Amazing Planes ‘Lost In Translation’ album

UK Garage rock duo Amazing Planes have released their new album ‘Lost In Translation’. Hailing from Mansfield, Nottinghamshire the band consists of rock duo Mark Nelson and Daniel Hard. Amazing Planes pull in elements of Rock, Blues and Indie to create their multi-faceted album ‘Lost In Translation’.
First up is ‘Saving The World’ with a gritty fuzzed bass riff its down and dirty raw kick ass attitude driven brawn. Slick and smooth this track charms with steamy attitude and a mighty punch. Slight country twangs shake up the track while heavy instrumentation pummels with smooth moshing frenzy. ‘Only When You Call’ displays the duo’s funky groovy side with bouncy instrumentation and sing along “ba baaa” feature. This track has a Blur feel in the verse which breaks away for the catchy chorus. Strong bass pulses through the track while vocal harmonies coast through with cruising charisma. Slick sharp guitar drives the track weaving in and out playfully while the soft drums and elastic bass keep the funky tempo.Title track ‘Lost In Translation’ continues this groovy shimmy and 60’s vibe, its flower power fun with brass elements warming up the flowing free track. The song breaks into a raw instrumental bridge with rattly guitar and rapid rumble on drums before leading into the massive chorus. ‘Coming Back To Me’ slows the tone down taking a more emotional tender persona. Soft soulful instrumentation accompanies the vocals while strong sharp interjections on guitar freshens up the otherwise delicate track. The album continues with Amazing Planes’ funky blends fizzling with rock and gritty elements. Shredding guitar licks and big chorus’ become the duos signature moves while they swoon in with cool tones and swagger soaked vocals. The stomp worthy ‘Good Thing’ is empowering and will definitely have you busting all the moves from shimmying to bopping and even pulling out the disco stew move with pride just before you air guitar to that thrilling solo. ‘Loves Gone’ closes the album, bass heavy and smooth its cool and polished raw and steamy. Punchy rumbling drums teamed with a blistering guitar riff and sensual sway-like verse, its a temptress to the ears.

A solid album from Amazing Planes ‘Lost In Translation’ is a fizzing can of delicious indie rock that will leave you thirsty for more.

Mad Ones ‘End of You’

Toronto Rock n Roll band Mad Ones have released their new single ‘End of You’.This new track is the first off their upcoming full length ‘Regretless’ which is out on March 3rd.In the beginning, the band started out as a duo and they put out their first three records that way. They toured the last album as a trio and it worked out so well that they decided to go into the studio together as a three piece and ‘Regretless’ is the result.
‘End Of You’ is a springy rubber ball bursting with exuberant bouncy percussion and lush cheerful harmonies. The infectious peppy melody is satisfyingly joyful, its packed with feet shuffling dance evoking goodness. Sharp edgy guitar adds an uplifting vitality to the track that makes you want to get up and dance. When asked about the track the band said:
“is an existential meltdown played out over the course of a 3 minute rock song. Initially it was set during the industrial revolution and written from the viewpoint of someone contemplating the value of human life and likely speculating on the existence of an afterlife. The song is also appropriately suited to the recent rise of right wing populism in the US, the strength of the opposition to it and the sinking feeling we are, as a species, doomed to repeat our mistakes”.
Right after release Mad Ones are taking off from Toronto and touring with their new lineup in Europe. For all live dates check out their website here http://www.madones.ca/

Adam & Elvis ‘Hanging Tree’

Adam & Elvis have released their new single ‘Hanging Tree’. Their thought-provoking, pull-no-punches style which is set to a musical backdrop of exhilarating wall-of-sound pop and primitive punk energy, unleashed by Patrick on guitar/vocals and Tom on bass/vocals respectively, with the aid of Juliet Styles (synths/saxophone), Steve Wraight (vocals/percussion) and Dan Robershaw (guitar). The Berkshire band have been championed by regional radio and performed their gripping live shows on the same bill as Fat White Family, The Zombies and The Correspondents, as well as numerous festivals across the south of England.
‘Hanging Tree’ is a sorry tale of a young intellectual who, despite his rationalism, loses his mind over unrequited love. Its peppy gritty alternative pop drenched in dark tragically comical tones. Deep dramatic vocals change from moody baritone to full-throttle tenor. The chorus breaks into a sweet bobbing melodious indie disco that bops and hops with elasticity and springiness coated in syrupy vocals. Jagged guitars gash as the rhythm blasts and thunders through the track with raw choppy wildness. Adam & Elvis perfectly make the dark gruelling gut-wrenching theme peppy and wacky while still expressing the pain dramatically with razor sharp saw-toothed instrumentation and deep vocals.

Secret Company ‘Lightning Parade’

Electrifying Chelmsford four-piece Secret Company are back with their latest single ‘Lightning Parade’. The new single is a tease of whats to come from their debut album ‘The World Lit Up And Filled With Colour’ which is set for release on March 10th next year. Band members Scott Revell (vocals / guitar), James Patman (guitar), Kushal Gupta (bass) and Tim Reyland (drums) are highly ambitious by their own admission and since forming in 2012 have gone on to clock up hundreds of thousands of Soundcloud & Spotify plays, performed live tracks on Channel 4’s reality show Made In Chelsea and have appeared at some of the country’s leading festivals this year including Leeds Festival, Secret Garden Party and Isle of Wight. Having previously been praised for their ability to balance delicate touches with anthemic stylings, the quartet yet again prove that pop music doesn’t have to be faceless as their intensity comes complete with thoughtfully crafted leading lines which have led the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens to count himself a big fan.
‘Lightning Parade’ is a darkened melodic grim track that builds into a fiery juggernaut of intensity and emotion. Introducing itself with Revell’s velvety smooth vocals narrating the story in a tender delicate manner. The track springboards into hair raising acute intensity. Shredding shrill on guitars pierce through the sticky beat and muggy gooey atmosphere. The chorus explodes with ferocity and an relentless aggressive energy that is so tense you are on the edge of you seat. With jaw-dropping liquid-smooth yet sharp vocals that haunt and shock with a versatile range and chilling spine tingling qualities. Drenched in eerie bloodcurdling tones this track makes for an electrifying and thrilling ride.
