Bayonets ‘Cheap Cravat’

Bayonets has released his new single ‘Cheap Cravat’.Bayonets is a solo project created by the Irish Co. Kerry musician and songwriter Vinnie Flynn. His distinctive style is a mix of alternative rock,indie, blues and folk. In addition to writing and performing live, Vinnie also works with several publishing companies based in the US who pitch his compositions to prime time TV shows and movies. Vinnie has performed at some of the biggest and best Irish music festivals including Electric Picnic, Vantastival and K-Fest. Vinnie will be playing a string of gigs and festivals in 2022, having just relocated to Barcelona Spain. His new single ”Cheap Cravat’ was recorded by a new upcoming Barcelona based producer ”Castell” the release gig will be held in Barcelona, Spain on November 13th 2021.

Blistering through a tantalising backdrop of stomping rhythms and desert-scorched guitar ‘Cheap Cravat’ is a dark and invigorating new tune from Bayonets. The song balances smooth, sensual tones with gritty textures to create a dynamic tune for listeners to indulge in. A luring melody creates a haunting yet lulling quality while Vinnie’s vocals rasp and croon throughout; whispering in parts to enhance the eerie undertone within the vibrant soundscape. The song is a sleek, well-crafted tune and exudes an irresistible charm that leaves the listener craving to hear more.

Bayonets ‘We Light Fires’

Bayonets is set to release his new single ‘We Light Fires’ on all digital platforms on the 15th of May and has released the video this weekend. Bayonets is a solo project created by Kerry musician and songwriter Vinnie Flynn. His distinctive style is a mix of alternative rock, indie, blues and folk. In addition to writing and performing live, Vinnie also works with several publishing companies based in the US who pitch his compositions to prime time TV shows and movies. ‘We Light Fires’ was recorded last year at Darklands Audio in Dublin by the great Daniel Doherty. Flynn worked on the video idea with an excellent Illustrator & Animator Lukas Beles at Flock of Crows Motion Design. 

Chilling, dark and wholly consuming ‘We Light Fires’ continues Bayonets luring sizzle of fiery alternative rock. Presented through an icy cool breeze of haunting delight the track coils with flourishing grandeur.The western- esque guitar strides with a swaggering stomp between sharp refrains of scorching intensity as Flynn ferments the tracks dark smothering underbelly.

Flynn has been able to push past any limited parameters a solo artist may have to develop an identity increasingly distinct and memorable. The track wildly swirls and rages behind Flynn’s rasp filled vocals as he maintains a calm enticing composure. With intriguing mysterious undertones rippling through the ominous harsh backdrop the track has that “ I can’t watch but can’t stop looking” horror movie quality as the cinematic stings on guitar paint shadowy characters into the songs soundscape.

Flynn’s ability to colour his tracks with evocative and vivid images through misty vaporous musicianship and smoky instrumentation is impressive and utterly captivating. Sublimely dramatic and meticulously crafted ‘We Light Fires’ is one spine-tingling force of nature.

Bayonets has released his new single ‘Farewell To Me’. Bayonets is a solo project created by Kerry musician and songwriter Vinnie Flynn. His distinctive style is a mix of alternative rock, indie, blues and folk.In addition to writing and performing live, Flynn also works with several publishing companies based in the US who pitch his compositions to prime time TV shows and movies. Flynn has a string of gigs and festivals in the pipeline for 2019, including Vantastival and some overseas appearances.His singles have received regular radio play on RTE’s 2fm and have even hit airwaves as far as Brooklyn, United States.

Another deeply haunting number ‘Farewell To Me’ creeps and stealthily slinks into your mind with its thrilling inky stain of delight. Devilishly tempting the track lures with a hypnotic guitar refrain that lingers in your mind for days. With an air of chilling mystery wrapped in an opaque shroud of ominous soundscapes this track is sublimely crafted to fill you with enchanting horror. Flynn’s vocals take a Marilyn Mansion quality as he whispers and deeply entices beneath the steady beat and guitar strums as if slowly luring you to your demise with a deceiving sense of security. Bayonets is a solo project created by Kerry musician and songwriter Vinnie Flynn. His distinctive style is a mix of alternative rock, indie, blues and folk. In addition to writing and performing live, Flynn also works with several publishing companies based in the US who pitch his compositions to prime time TV shows and movies. His body of work conjures haunting intrigue, each melody luring the listener into a dark and beguiling tale. Bayonet’s sound is undeniably his own and unclassifiable in any one genre.His debut single’ Slow Burning Fire’ was premiered in June 2017 by Hot Press Magazine and has received wide media acclaim. The track has received regular radio play on RTE’s 2fm and it’s made Joe.ie’s song of the day, it’s even hit airwaves as far as Brooklyn, United States. Flynn has now released his second single with an accompanying video titled ‘This Old Coast’.

‘This Old Coast’ is a sinister spine-chilling number that creeps into your brain with its enchanting melody and entrapping guitar. Flynn has developed and carefully crafted this track to create a wholly engulfing, mesmerising experience. His brooding velvety vocals lure you into the track while a pulsing, thumping rhythm adds a blood rushing, thickly smothering sense of peril. It’s asphyxiating yet breathy all at once while filing you with goosebump inducing paranoia. The hypnotic guitar lines flicker with a warm yet ominous quality that wiggles and worms its way into your subconscious. Flynn has a string of gigs and festivals in the pipeline for 2018, including some overseas appearances.You can catch him playing at Siné on the March 31st with Vulpynes and K-Fest in Killorglin Co,Kerry on June 3rd. Vinnie also has two more large Irish festivals to announce over the coming weeks.
