Jack Woodward is an Indie singer-songwriter from Warrington and living in Manchester.He has released his new single ‘Let it Happen’ which is the first single release since his debut EP ‘Fly Away’ and displays Woodwards indie / band sound. It was recorded with Sugar House (producers), who have worked on Viola Beach (Swings and Waterslides) and Pale Waves records. It is likely to be the first single to his next 4-track EP, which he is looking at releasing later this year. Woodward supported the band 706s at the Manchester Academy and Rae Morris at her sold out show at King Tuts Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow. He released his debut EP ‘Fly Away’ in November 2016 with a launch event at Gullivers, Manchester (performing with a backing band). ‘Fly Away’ EP was #2 best-selling singer-songwriter album on iTunes pre-order chart and #82 on the singer-songwriter itunes chart on its release day. ‘Honey’ the lead song on the EP was nominated for Best Song of 2016 by Best of British Unsigned while the single ‘Fly Away’ has been played multiple times on Amazing Radio.
‘Let it Happen’ is a display of bright-eyed and bushy-tailed bubbly indie. Glowing and radiant with bursts of rich sprightly guitar. Its that fun cheerful and immensely energetic track that makes you want to dance around the room. With the frolicsome bouncy rhythm building into a mighty powerful chorus, its a spirit lifting “scream the lyrics as loud as you can” feel good track that is infectious. Woodward’s dynamic strong vocal lifts the chorus into another dimension. If your feeling glum put this track on, let it all go and dance like a fool. You will feel better.

Indie Buddie Introducing : The Skullers
The Skullers are a rock and roll trio from New Jersey. Band members Jack Skuller (vocals, guitar, harmonica), Gabriel Scholis-Fernandez (drums) and Luigi Sardi (bass) play their blues-soaked brand of modern rock and roll with a down-to-the-bone rockabilly soul. Their live shows prove the band is just as comfortable covering a Little Walters blues swamp as they are playing classic punk from Richard Hell. Frontman Jack Skuller’s songwriting and musicianship was recognised by the Songwriters Hall of Fame who awarded him the 2014 Holly Prize in tribute to the legacy of Buddy Holly. Luke August ‘Need Nobody’
Luke August will release his latest single ‘Need Nobody’ on Tuesday. ‘Need Nobody’ was worked with Grammy Award winning mastering engineer William Bowden (Gotye, Bluejuice, Paul Dempsey).

Mellor ‘The Visitor
Reading Indie four Piece Mellor have released their new single ‘The Visitor’. The band consisting of members Gary, Sam, Kris, and Josh have had a whole host of national and regional media support from the likes of Absolute Radio, BBC6 Music, BBC Berkshire, BBC London, and BBC Introducing. Labelled by Alt Reading as “one of Reading’s most exciting acts”, they bring a live show packed with high energy, raucous vocals, big guitar riffs, and pounding drums. The bands dedicated following is steadily on the rise thanks to shows up and down the UK sharing stages with the likes of The Kooks, Frankie & The Heartstrings, Carl Barat & The Jackals, Flyte, and The Milk.

The Hubbards ‘Just Touch’
The Hull-born Leeds-based four-piece The Hubbards will release their new single ‘Just Touch’ on March 31st in association with Scruff of the Neck Records. The band consists of members Reuben Driver (Vocals and Bass), Alex Green (Guitar and vocals), Ronan Burns (Guitar) and Joe Orlowski (Drums). A smattering of single releases have earned the band crucial early and continued support from BBC Radio 1 and 6Music, while support slots for the likes of Augustines and The Pigeon Detectives has seen the buzz that surrounds the band grow to an almost deafening level.
‘Just Touch’ is woozy hazy infectious fizzing indie. With shrilling guitar bliss, rooted driving bassline and fresh breezy vocals its blistering and sizzling with strutting swagger. Fiery drums pound while the track explodes instrumentally with piercing razor sharp guitar and ear-piercing ecstasy. Jetty Rae ‘Take Me to the Mountain’
Jetty Rae is a singer-songwriter based out of Northern Michigan she recently released her new album ‘Can’t Curse the Free’. Jetty is known for the power and restraint in her voice and her ability to pull at your heart strings delicately. However she also possesses the power to awaken a passion, a fight in all of us when she really belts it. Her hopes are to eventually start a label for independent artists like herself, that will empower artists to start where they are. She is hoping to give them the tools, studio time, experience, and resources they need to succeed in making great art. Her single ‘Take Me to the Mountain’ is the perfect example of Jetty’s magnificent voice and powerful song writing.
‘Take Me to the Mountain’, echoes with haunting goosebump inducing soul fused with indie rock and laced with speckles of pop. Its sensually smooth with gentle instrumentation letting Jetty’s sultry vocals take the limelight. Warm deep guitar glimmers throughout the track while the soft percussion and melodic sway -like character creates a steamy sweltering track that oozes soul and emotion. The sharp guitar stabs in the chorus add edge and sting to the enticing velvety track. Black Honey ‘Somebody Better’
Black Honey have released their new single ‘Somebody Better’ to their eagerly awaiting fans with the little treat of a b-side track ‘Cadillac’ as well to ease those withdrawal symptoms a little. ‘Somebody Better’ shrills with a thrilling sky scraping guitar that displays the edgy and kick-ass hysteria that only Black Honey does so well. Queue their signature ear worm syrupy melody and you are hooked. Sweet backing vocals lull while Izzy sings honest lyrics against a cinematic backdrop, its hazy day dreamy bliss. The shattering punch of the drums reverbs through your core while the strong nimble bass gives us a flexible groove. Shredding ear-piercing guitar solo adds a blood-tingling rawness that is electrifying.
‘Cadillac’ brings us a smooth dreamy laid back euphoria to loose yourself in. Izzy’s velvety soothing sultry vocals radiate against a scorching desert like guitar while soft drums tranquillise your mind in a blurry haze. Its the mind numbing healthy dose of Black Honey that leaves you entranced. With darkened undertones and haunting backing vocals its humid sedating ecstasy.
These guys know what they are doing, its tight with each instrument adding a dynamic breathtaking facet to this sparkling diamond. Black Honey are one of the most exciting bands out there, they just keep getting better.

The Assist ‘Wonderful’
Walsall Indie four piece, The Assist have released their new single ‘Wonderful’ today. With lyrics from the street to accompany an indie dance beat, their sound has propelled them onto some of the countries biggest stages in 2016. Having recently graced both Leeds and Y Not festival alongside support slots with both Ratboy and Blossoms a big 2017 is expected. The band has been strongly supported by BBC’s introducing show and labelled as “Birmingham’s next big thing” by ‘Radio X’.
‘Wonderful’ is an infectious instrumentally dazzling indie track with a sunny gleaming lustre bursting with vibrant energy. Sparkling shimmery guitars teamed with soft soaring backing vocals its effortlessly cool and beaming from the start. The rapid cushioned beat and nimble elastic bass gives a rhythm to dance and bop to. Stop start guitars add edge and zest to the track while it swirls with a magnificent intense luminosity and uplifting vibe. The vocals convey a serious theme of struggling however The Assist give us hope and portray their message in a positive uplifting bright way. Insanely catchy this track fires a little burst of sunshine and scintillating energy into every note. Its a must listen.

Holly Holden ‘Run’
Holly Holden has released the video for the lead track ‘Run’ off her brand new EP ‘Tropical Soul’ due for release in April. Aside from her solo project Holly is also a member of all female vocal group Deep Throat Choir who are signed to Bella Union and were recently featured and performed on BBC 4 Radio ‘Loose Ends’ with Clive Anderson, as well as a live session with Lauren Laverne on BBC 6 Music. Her sound has been shaped by many years of travel and collaboration in Latin America and the Caribbean – Cuba, Ecuador, Colombia, Dominican Republic. It fuses ‘tropical’ rhythms like reggae, rocksteady, salsa, bolero and cumbia with soulful, RnB, pop vocal melodies.
‘Run’ is beaming tropical soul that was made for laid back hazy days in the sun accompanied by the fruitiest chilled cocktail drink you can find. Smothered in exotic tones and driven with reggae beats and zesty guitar jabs it exudes warmth and luminosity. With a bitter sweet infectious soul pop melody and lyrical depth that holds upbeat yet melancholic vibes, its a richly textured lush escape to that tropical desert island in your mind.
