‘Why’ floods with stunning melodies and earnest songwriting. Dylan Flynn & the Dead Poets drizzle this lush track with their brand of ethereal musicianship to create a timeless and beautiful tune for listeners to enjoy. It’s elegant and dreamy with hints of indie edge to keep the song fresh and engaging.
The vocals complement each other wonderfully. Laura Duff’s immaculate vocals caress the melody with a soft velvety tone while Flynn’s expressive rasp creates warmth and texture. Balancing airy tones with country elements and indie pop; ‘Why’ is a well-crafted delight that boasts the incomparable talent of Dylan Flynn and The Dead Poets.
About the track Flynn said – “This song always felt like a single to us. From the first demo, we knew it was something special. When it came around to picking the initial singles for the album, this came very close to being one we released, but we decided to keep it as an album track. I’m glad we did, because the version we have now breaths a whole new life into the lyrics. Laura’s vocal really brought the track to life. “
