Rowlette ‘Dreamer’

Rowlette has released her new single “Dreamer”. 2022 was a busy year for the artist who hosted a packed-out headliner in the British capital with fellow musician Faraway Martin, supported CMAT, Rofi James and Junior Brother, and released a string of new tracks.

‘Dreamer’ is a song that displays Rowlette’s ability to capture the heart of listeners with her wonderful storytelling and warm musicianship. The song twinkles with soft guitar and folk tones over supple orchestral arrangements, and elegant piano creating a soothing backdrop for her sweet vocals. In the unusual setting of a discount store, the song captures the beauty in the everyday moment, and the feeling of knowing someone truly believes in you. Rowlette tells this story through charming melodies and comforting soundscapes making ‘Dreamer’ a delight to listen to.

About the track Rowlette said:  “I love this song because of its simplicity. I wrote it about a day a friend of mine came to visit me in my hometown. It was a wintery Sunday evening during the pandemic and there was really nowhere to go. We ended up going to Mr. Price and having a great time – it’s one of those places you always find things you didn’t know you needed! I got a lovely journal to write down what I wanted for the year, and I assumed he would think I was a bit silly, but instead he was just really supportive. Obviously big gestures and that are nice, but I think there’s nothing better than when you can tell someone really believes in you and has your back.”

Rowlette ‘Perfect’

Rowlette has released her third release of 2022, ‘Perfect’.The song explores the relationship with one’s body and our tendency to chastise it, despite all the amazing things it enables us to do. The song was produced by Dave Skelton and mastered by Aidan Foley. Rowlette, currently based in London, has been busy since the world of live music has returned. She recently hosted a packed-out headliner in the British capital with fellow musician Faraway Martin. As well, she’s back in Dublin frequently, performing at venues such as Workman’s and The Soundhouse. As a solo performer with an acoustic guitar, Rowlette is recognised for her powerful vocals, inspirational lyrics and captivating performances. Hailing from Co. Mayo, she has a distinctive writing style, known for her storytelling ability. Rowlette’s tracks have received radio play across Irish radio stations and abroad and were added to several Spotify editorial playlists.

‘Perfect’ is a tender ballad that displays Rowlette’s eloquent songwriting over delicate yet cinematic soundscapes. With swooning strings and warm bass sweeping over folk-esque acoustic guitar and elegant piano, Rowlette creates a well-crafted backdrop for her soothing vocal delivery. Her voice caresses the soothing melody with a sense of comfort and uplifting earnestness as the song ventures into its cinematic crescendo with a grace and elegance that is to be admired. Event News : Rowlette to host private, online gig, with all unheard tracks

Rowlette will be hosting a private, online gig with all previously unheard tracks. This will take place at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17th.

Rowlette is an indie-pop artist. As a solo performer with an acoustic guitar, she is recognised for her powerful vocals, inspirational lyrics and captivating performances. Hailing from Co. Mayo, she has a distinctive yet gripping writing style. Somehow not falling into the typical romance genre, you’re more likely to catch Rowlette singing about topics such as breaking the mould, friendship, embracing ambition and living in the present.

Before the pandemic struck, Rowlette was well known on the live scene, including Rowlette performing a packed-out headliner in Crowbar and joining Jack L on his latest tour, impressing audiences across the country in venues such Cork Opera House, Theatre Royal and the Pavillion.

Rowlette is a passionate performer. Her catchy indie-pop songs are sure to have you singing along in no time. Last year Rowlette took over our Indie Buddie Facebook and Instagram for a wonderful and engaging livestream that put a smile on everyone’s faces. Her charming and fun personality teamed with her mesmerising vocals is sure to make this event one not to miss.

About the event, Rowlette said:“I’m hosting it privately, as I want it to be an intimate experience. Attendees don’t have to take part, but all feedback will be welcomed and encouraged. It’s a chance to put on the kettle or pour a glass of wine, relax and hear some original and unheard music.”

Craig Cooney and Rowlette ‘December’

Rising Irish artists Craig Cooney and Rowlette are spreading the festive spirit with their new track ‘December’. 2020 has been a big year for both artists. ‘December’ marks indie-pop artist Rowlette’s fourth release this year, with previous singles being added to Spotify editorial playlists (including Fresh Pop, Pop Right Now and New Music Friday), performing alongside Jack L, being RTE Culture Tune of the Day twice and packing out her first headline show. Craig Cooney has been pursuing music professionally for the past three years and has multiple headline shows under his belt. His fifth ever show was in the Olympia Theatre supporting Gavin James.

‘December’ is an earnest, catchy blend of hip hop and pop as Rowlette’s soulful vocals and Craig Cooney’s fluid raps merge to create an uplifting number. The track floats upon a delicate piano refrain while swirling electronics create a magical soundscape for the vocals to flourish within. Angelic pop sweetness is provided by Rowlette’s warm vocals and the wistful melody as Cooney’s hip hop and rap provides a raw, jagged quality to the track. Melodic and richly crafted ‘December’ is an impressive song from Rowlette and Craig Cooney.

‘Cucumber & Ice’ is a shimmering pop anthem that drifts on the fun, clean and dynamic songwriting of Rowlette. This track radiates sunny vibes through a warm guitar refrain, buoyant rhythmic drive and a vibrant bubbly melody. Rowlette’s soothing vocals ooze character and charm while the freeing catchy melody ensures the song will stay in your head for days. This upbeat track is an instant ray of sunshine as the twinkle on guitar saturates the verse in a luminous glow before leading the song into its blossoming earworm chorus. ‘Cucumber & Ice’ is that catchy pick me ready to put a smile on your face when you need it. 

About the song’s creation Rowlette says “I was with Graham and Rob in the studio and we were writing a very serious/sad song when we decided to just switch it up. Graham started messing with a riff on guitar and I had the Cucumber and Ice idea in my notepad and we went from there. It was a lot of fun writing it.” The song was later mixed by Vasileios Gourgourinis and mastered by Fergal Davis to add the final gloss to an already sparkling tune.”

Rowlette ‘Footprints On The Moon’

Irish, indie-artist Rowlette has released her second single ‘Footprints on the Moon’. Rowlette is well known on the Dublin live scene, with performances this summer in Workman’s, The Grand Social, The Wiley Fox and providing support to Jack L.

‘Footprints On The Moon’ is a beautifully crafted number that floats effortlessly on warm guitar and twinkling piano while Rowlette’s charming vocals coo and melt upon the catchy melody. With a dark percussion progression, lush harmonies and a chilled ethereal tone this pop sprinkled track is a motivational gem. There is power throughout from the strong vocals to thumping beat and striding guitar – the track layers and develops adding depth and new strength with each section. The piano adds elegance and grandeur while the haunting backing vocals provide an eerie quality, reinforcing the shadowy percussion. Its an empowering, well crafted track from Rowlette.

Talking about the inspiration for the song Rowlette explains; “For some reason, we are all accustomed to believing we have to live our lives a certain way and write so much off as impossible. When you think about the fact we are a tiny little planet in an infinite universe, and all that mankind has done, your dreams suddenly seem somehow achievable”
